8 players Bengals could target on NFL waiver wire

The Cincinnati Bengals haven’t kept it a secret they intend on browsing the waiver wire and perhaps trade market after announcing the 53-man roster.

Some sour spots on the final 53 stick out, which would explain the willingness to go shopping. If they do, here’s a look at some players they could end up targeting.

OT Justin Murray: If they want to go the familiarity route, Zac Taylor worked with Murray at the University of Cincinnati.

OT Erik Magnuson: Versatility is the name of the game here, as the Michigan product can back up all three inside spots. Could be a valuable add after dumping John Jerry.

RB Devine Ozigbo: Another rookie back who could make waves if given a chance, the undrafted talent put up 92 rushing yards and 61 more with a score as a receiver this preseason.

RB Samaje Perine: Perine is quality depth who was still improving as a pass-catcher when Washington let him go. He’s a former runningmate of Joe Mixon, so the chemistry boost couldn’t hurt too.

RB Josh Adams: Adams led the Eagles in rushing this year but the mixture of additions to the roster and a shoulder injury pushed him out. A 22-year-old back with that sort of experience isn’t often available.

LB Tegray Scales: Quality special teams guy who can patrol the middle if asked.

LB Dakota Allen: A seventh-round rookie who didn’t make the cut with the Rams, which was a surprise in the first place.

DB Teez Tabor: Hard to ignore a former second-round pick with good traits. Maybe the Bengals would want to look at him in a hybrid role.
