8 Jaw-Dropping Easter Eggs You Probs Missed In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 Ep 7

If you thought Jenny Han was going to let us cruise into the finale without emotionally destroying us, think again. Episode seven, titled “Last Hurrah”, gave us tequila, confessions and sneaky callbacks. But in true TSITP fashion, it wasn’t just a love triangle mess-fest — the episode was packed with tiny details and not-so-subtle signs pointing to where this whole saga is heading.

Here’s your handy guide to every Easter egg, callback and subtle clue you probably missed amidst the sobbing.

The literal electric jolt

Remember season two’s infamous fireworks chat, where Belly (Lola Tung) declared she couldn’t imagine marrying someone who didn’t give her “fireworks… like electric jolts every time I saw them”? Yeah, Jenny Han made that literal.

While prepping the Fisher house, Conrad (Chris Briney) gets an actual shock fiddling with the lights, and Belly rushes over like the world’s most concerned sparkie. Subtle? No. Effective? Oh absolutely. The “electric jolt” line lives rent-free, and this felt like the show underlining it in fluorescent marker.

Conrad’s flowers

Conrad quietly arranging hydrangeas in the Fisher household felt like Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) all over again — equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking. But then there’s the colour game.

Season three has been leaning so heavily into the symbolism of blue for Team Jeremiah Gavin Casalegno and red for Team Conrad that it might as well hand out colour-coded scorecards. So when red flowers kept sprouting amongst the garden’s sea of blue hydrangeas, it basically screamed: Conrad isn’t out of Belly’s system, no matter how hard she tries to force the wedding vibe.

Sorry, Jere.

I see you red flower!! (Image: The Summer I Turned Pretty)

The glass unicorn

The glass unicorn was introduced in season two and viewers knew that it was a gift from Conrad. But this time we got to see why Conrad bought it in the first place. As this Reddit user beautifully put, “The gifts Conrad gives her both physical and conceptual are a recognition of his typically unspoken observations about what Belly truely wants.”

But there’s more! The TSITP superfans over at Decider noticed that during Belly’s flashback to the glass unicorn shop, a wall clock clearly reads 3:05pm. Fans quickly linked it back to episode five in season three — the “peach” moment that kicked her feelings for Conrad into a new gear.

Even wilder — 3 + 5 = 8. Eight = infinity. Infinity = Conrad’s necklace. Are we screaming yet? By the time Belly exits the shop, the clock’s at 5:20. 5+2 = 7. We’re in Episode 7. And guess what happens? Conrad lays it all on the line, and Belly says it’s “too late”.

Somebody get some red string and a white board out, because the maths isn’t math-ing… or maybe it’s actually genius.

PS: If you think this is stretching it, then you clearly don’t know that Jenny is a daughter of Taylor Swift aka the queen of Easter eggs.

The “when the party’s over” encore

Yes, the Billie Eilish moment from season one’s dock scene is back, only this time with James Blake’s version.

Both moments? Identical in vibes: Conrad pushing his heart forward, infinity-level devotion at stake, Belly shutting it down. If season one was heartbreaking, season three feels like twisting the knife.

Jeremiah-shaped holes everywhere

In the book version, Belly crawls into bed with Jeremiah and mumbles an “I love you” into his spine. The show? Brutal. Belly sobs beside Taylor instead, taps on Jeremiah’s wall out of habit… and gets silence. No comfort, no response, just emptiness. That twist doesn’t just show the distance between Belly and Jere — it underlines the whole “Conrad vs Jeremiah” question has already tilted one way. Jenny Han loves nothing more than dangling the knife and asking, ‘Still Team Jere?’

Plus, Jeremiah’s ex Redbird (Tanner Zagarino) popped up in this episode — a new addition not in the books. Which… probably means something for our boy’s storyline. Just don’t ask me what, because I’m still recovering from the beach-side tears.

Purple lighting

When Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” plays during Belly’s dance-floor flashbacks (aka the ultimate Bonrad fan edit), the lighting is very much doing the most.

Purple — a mash-up of Conrad’s red and Jeremiah’s blue — floods the scene, only for Belly to be bathed in blue the moment she “snaps out of it”. If you want to over-analyse the colour palette? Same. If you want to scream “Jenny Han is trolling us?” Also same.

Picturing Conrad

Speaking of that gummy induced, chaotic club moment, in Belly’s panic attack about her Conrad flashbacks, she admits that she “never even had a dream wedding”.

“It wasn’t like this, not with the dresses and the flowers. I never pictured any of it. I only ever pictured Conrad,” she said as I screamed at my TV.

Winding back to the convo Conrad and Belly had about her mum Laurel (Jackie Chung) coming to the wedding, Conrad said he did it because she should “should have everything that [she’d] ever pictured”. AKA HIM, BECAUSE SHE PICTURED HIM.

Anywho, I need to breathe for a second, but this could be a hint as to who she ends up with at the end of the series.

Taylor Swift’s “loml”

With Ariana, Blackpink, Sabrina Carpenter and more blasting throughout the episode, the competition was fierce. But Swift turning up with “loml” at the very end? It’s Jenny Han grabbing you by the face and yelling: “These broken idiots ARE the love and loss of each other’s lives”. You’re welcome.

With four episodes left, expect vibes equivalent to peeling a sunburn: oddly satisfying but mostly just pain.
