Funko Pops have been all the rage recently, capturing the hearts of NBA fans, young and old alike. These cute, hand-sized figurines are a great way to show your love for both the sport and, more so, the athlete. I’m a big fan of the little guys, but honestly, with such a vast variety to choose from, it’s pretty hard to have ’em all.
So, after careful consideration, I’ve shortlisted the 7 best Funko Pops from the NBA. From legendary names like Michael Jordan to current stars like Anthony Edwards, this list has everything you need to add to your collection. That said, let’s dive straight in.
Chicago Bulls Funko Pop! #193 Michael Jordan Rookie Season Vinyl Figure
First up is the man himself, Michael Jordan. Now, we all know Michael Jordan as the legend who won 6 NBA championships. But this Michael Jordan Funko Pop focuses more on the start of his career, more specifically, his rookie season.
Jordan has achieved great wealth and status playing in the NBA, popularizing the sport around the world with his unbelievable 3-pointers. He’s even a partial owner of another NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets, but this figurine is all about taking a step back to where it all started. A young Michael Jordan in his Chicago Bulls jersey, ready to shoot some hoops.
Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors Fanatics Exclusive Statement Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure
Regardless of whether you’re a Golden State Warriors fan or not, we’ve all heard of Stephen Curry and his insane plays on the court. Being a point guard, Steph Curry is renowned for his long-range shots and ball-handling, holding the record for the most career 3-pointers made.
It goes without saying that the Steph Curry Figurine is a must-have for all NBA enthusiasts, even more so after his Olympic performance. The 4-time NBA champion is not someone you should be sleeping on, and with the free shipping sale going on, it’s a great time to get your hands on this pop.
Allen Iverson 2005 NBA All-Star Game #159 Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure
Next up on the list, I’ve got Allen Iverson. I said I’d only mention the must-haves of the NBA collection, and the Allen Iverson figure is right up there with the rest. While the figurine itself is incredibly detailed and eye-catching, it’s the lore behind it that makes it a must-have.
In the 2005 All-Star game, Iverson dropped 15 points, 9 assists, and 5 steals, leading the East to a 125-115 victory. This was the East’s first victory after 3 years, and all credit was due to Allen Iverson. Being the MVP of the match, the point guard and shooting guard for the 76ers carved his legacy into the Hall of Fame. This Funko Pop serves as a constant reminder of Iverson’s incredible performance, so get it to commemorate the NBA heritage.
Funko POP! NBA: Nuggets – Nikola Jokic – Collectable Vinyl Figure
If you’re a fan of the Denver Nuggets, this figurine is one you cannot pass up. The Nikola Jokic figurine is up for grabs on Amazon for a low price of $12.95, and that’s a steal in my eyes. The Serbian national plays for the Denver Nuggets as a Center and is lethal on the court.
Nicknamed ‘the Joker’, Jokic has an impressive track record in the NBA. He’s been crowned MVP 3 times and received the All-Star title a whopping 7 times. If that doesn’t justify the purchase, I’m not sure what will. As for the figurine itself, it displays a really clean design with Nikola Jokic holding a basketball, something you’ll want for the mantle display.
Funko Pop! NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves – Anthony Edwards
Anthony Edwards, the young basketball prodigy, is playing in the big leagues today. The 23-year-old shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves was picked up in 2020 as a 1st round 1st pick. But in these 5 short years, he’s earned his place in the NBA and on my list.
If you’re wondering where his popularity is derived from, let me break it down. In his rookie season, Edwards earned the All-Rookie title. Going forward, he received the All-Star title 3 times. That’s quite a feat considering players much older struggle to get that recognition. He also led the Timberwolves to this season’s Western Conference finals, which they unfortunately lost. However, Edwards has shown that he has everything to be a future NBA champion, and it’s the perfect time to get the Anthony Edwards Funko.
Funko POP! NBA: Lakers – LeBron James – Collectable Vinyl Figure
If there are two names in basketball the whole world knows about, it’s Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Now, since LeBron doesn’t need an introduction, the same should go for his vinyl figurine. Dressed in his Los Angeles Lakers jersey, with the iconic #23 plastered across the chest, the LeBron James collectible figure is something every basketball fan should have.
Looking at the player himself, the Lakers’ power forward has no shortage of accolades. From being Rookie of the Year in 2003, things just kept getting better from there on out. He holds 4 NBA championships to his name and 21 All-Star titles. James is also the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, beating out several big names from the past. Whether or not you’re a fan of the Lakers, definitely keep your eyes on this figurine.
Funko POP! NBA: Spurs – Victor Wembanyama – Collectable Vinyl Figure
Victor Wembanyama, the French-National pro-NBA player, might come as a surprise to some, but let me explain. Victor is only 21 years of age and has already been named Rookie of the Year. Aside from his career stats, another stat that makes him stand out is his height. At 7’4, he sits well above the average height, even according to NBA standards.
I know that the Victor Wembanyama figurine might not be everyone’s first choice, but someone who has achieved so much in such a short time deserves a shot. The Funko Pop itself looks great, with the black hairstyle matching the aesthetic black San Antonio Spurs jersey.
Funko Pop NBA: Dallas Mavericks – Luka Doncic – (24-25 City Edition)
Our last spot is grabbed by another member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic. But unlike most other figurines here, the Luka Doncic Funko Pop isn’t based on his Lakers season, but rather his final season at the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic started his career at the Mavericks in 2018 and was recently traded for Anthony Davis. He’s received several recognitions throughout his career, mainly being Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie in his debut year, 2018-2019.
But here’s the real reason this figurine is so special. You can see Doncic wearing a unique jersey called the City Edition jersey. These jerseys are designed by Nike as a tribute to the community, including local heritage and culture. They are limited-time drops, making them much more valuable. The sleek white-and-silver colour scheme, plus exclusivity, make this a must-have figurine.
