A coin toss should be so simple.
We’ve written this before, but: A referee asks the captain of the visiting NFL team whether they want heads or tails. Then, the coin is tossed. If it’s won, the choice is to receive the kickoff or to kick off, or to choose which end zone to defend. Loser gets the other choice. That’s it!
Yet over the decades, we’ve seen some botched coin moments, and it’s always hilarious or just plain bizarre. Heck, twice on Thanksgiving 2021 we saw some weird coin toss moments, which you’ll see below in a roundup of toss weirdness.
