The Philadelphia Eagles are about a month and half out from the start of the 2020 NFL season and even with a full roster, Howie Roseman could still look to add value to the team. The Eagles could still use a veteran running back or pass rusher and with Jadeveon Clowney still on the board, there’s also a chance Roseman could make a big splash.
With the Eagles aspiring for another Super Bowl, here are 8 available free agents that could interest the Birds.

1. Logan Ryan, CB
A smart, instinctive hybrid defensive back, Ryan would fit in with an Eagles secondary that his embracing versatile defenders. Ryan can play the slot, safety, and could make the Eagles that much tougher to gameplan for.
Last season his 18 passes defended were third-most in the league, while he also added 4.5 sacks, eight quarterback hits, 113 tackles, and four interceptions.

2. Jadaveon Clowney, DE
The longer the former No. 1 overall pick goes without a team, the more likely that he’s asking price could be reduced for a season. Clowney appears unlikely to get a long-term deal at $18M-$20M per season but could still take the mercenary approach and cash out on one-year deals that fit his strengths.
With the Eagles, Clowney’s lack of sacks wouldn’t be an issue and as one of the most double-teamed players in the NFL, he’d add more value to Javon Hargrave, Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, and Fletcher Cox.

3. Ezekiel Ansah, DE
The former pass-rushing savant had 48 sacks for Detroit, Ansah has struggled to stay healthy as of late.

4. Devonta Freeman, RB
Freeman turned a $4 million offer from the Seattle Seahawks and reportedly had interest from the Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles offer Freeman a chance for a bigger role without the pressure of being a lead back.
The Falcons released Freeman to free up cap space and after a season in which he had 1,066 yards from scrimmage but averaged just 3.6 yards per carry, Freeman could be the perfect complimentary piece to Miles Sanders in a backup role.

5. Jason Peters, LT
The Eagles have continued to flirt with Peters despite preparing to move on with Andre Dillard at the left tackle spot. Peters is still one of the top left tackles in the NFL and could provide the Eagles with ample insurance on the edge.

6. Everson Griffen, DE
Griffen is a logical fit and he’s still a Pro Bowl-caliber end who can give the Eagles playoff reps.

7. Theo Riddick, RB
Riddick missed all of the 2019 NFL season after suffering a shoulder injury during training camp. Riddick has familiarity with Jim Schwartz and could be a third-down option at running back or a veteran to add to the stable.

8. Vinny Curry, DE
Curry registered four of his five sacks on the season after Week 12 and he could provide the Eagles with a talented presence on the defensive line capable of playing end or defensive tackle. The Eagles and GM Howie Roseman have talked about getting younger, so it’ll be interesting to see where Curry fits in the long-term plans.
