7th-round pick Donnie Lewis added to the Browns practice squad

The 2019 NFL Draft class for the Cleveland Browns is all back in the same dawg pound. Seventh-round CB Donnie Lewis Jr., the last of the team’s picks, signed to the Browns’ practice squad on Saturday.

Lewis was waived in the final roster cutdown last weekend. The cornerback from Tulane had battled a foot injury suffered during Shrine Game practices and never really got solid footing with the Browns. He went unclaimed and unsigned by other teams.

The Browns axed offensive tackle Paul Adams from the practice squad to bring Lewis back into the fold.

In addition, cornerback Phillip Gaines was released from injured reserve, where he was placed with a concussion. Gaines is now free to sign with another team.
