750 homes, 100-bed hotel, offices and a primary school...the vision for what could soon replace Kellogg's ex-HQ in Trafford

Plans for new homes, offices and a school on the former Kellogg's factory site in Trafford have been announced.

Trafford Council is working with development firm Bruntwood Works to put 750 new homes, a leisure centre, a 100-room hotel and a primary school on the site, opposite Old Trafford cricket ground.

Plans also include 200,000 square feet of office space, improved pedestrian and cycle routes and a new public square.

Trafford Council bought the plot for £12 million back in September 2017 and is now consulting the public on the plans.

The authority said it wants to engage with residents to hear what people would like to see in the area.

Later this week, a public consultation event will be held at Trafford town hall on Thursday, November 7, from 3pm to 7pm, where people will be able to view the council's plans and give feedback.

An online feedback form will also be made available to the public from November 7 onwards.

Coun Andrew Western, Trafford Council's leader, said: “The plan presents a fantastic opportunity to provide much-needed housing, further develop local amenities, improve community use of the area and completely transform our public spaces.

"The plans aims to create a fantastic place for those who live and work here, so please take the time to tell us what you want: your views are vital in shaping this project.”

Andrew Cooke, regional director for Bruntwood Works, said: “We’re pleased to be bringing forward this exciting vision for a vibrant mixed-use development, which will sit at the heart of the Trafford Civic Quarter community.

"The next phase of development will provide the facilities and amenities to anchor and support the sustainable long-term growth of the area – providing high-quality housing and education, alongside an attractive retail and leisure proposition, which will bring people to the area and enable local businesses to attract and retain first-class talent.

"We look forward to engaging local community and working with them to shape the plans for this development.”

Kellogg's moved from the Talbot Road site after 27 years in 2017,  to MediaCityUK, at Salford Quays.
