74 days until UGA football…remembering No. 74 Max Jean-Gilles

With 74 days until the return of Georgia football, we honor one of the greatest Bulldogs of all time…No. 74, OL Max Jean-Gilles.

Big Max played for Georgia from 2002 to 2005 and was a first-team All-SEC selection and recognized as a consensus first-team All-American. He was a key starter on a team that defeated LSU 34–14 to win the 2005 SEC Championship Game.

At 6-foot-3 320 pounds, he was named an all-state selection out of North Miami Beach (FL), where was considered a top prospect in the country. In 2002, Jean-Gilles chose Georgia over Ohio State, Arkansas and Miami.

He was taken in the fourth round of 2006 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, where he remained until 2010. He also had short tenures with the Bengals and the Panthers before testing out indoor football.
