Liverpool’s Santa Dash takes place virtually today for the first time ever, having been delayed and changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The BTR Liverpool Santa Dash will be incredibly different this year after bosses confirmed it would go virtual for the first time ever earlier this year, rather than being held as a mass event.
For many, the Santa Dash is considered by many to be the start of the festive season, and despite being moved to later in December, today will be just the same as always.
While we won’t see hundreds of Santas running through the city centre together today, the event’s new virtual option will enable people to still put on their running shoes and enjoy the dash in small, socially distanced groups wherever they are based and still earn a Santa Dash medal.
Profits raised by the BTR Liverpool Santa Dash will be donated to Alder Hey Children’s Charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Marie Curie, North West Air Ambulance Charity, Nugent, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, and Wirral University Teaching Hospital Charity.
To mark the return of Liverpool’s Santa Dash, we’ve taken a look back at some of the best photos of the most memorable Santa Dashes.
