716 people test positive for Covid-19 during last 24 hours in Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire recorded another 716 positive coronavirus cases in the latest figures.

In the 24 hours from January 13 to January 14, the figures have risen in all areas of the county with Nottingham, Mansfield and Ashfield showing the largest increases.

The city had an increase of 244 new cases while Mansfield confirmed 116 new positive tests.

Ashfield also recorded an additional 109 cases and it has the second highest number of cases in the county.

Nationally there were 1,248 deaths within 28 days of a positive test today.

The latest data, which shows there were 48,682 positive cases in the UK, was published by the Government in conjunction with Public Health England at on Thursday, January 13.

It comes as vaccinations continue to be rolled out across hubs in Nottinghamshire and despite some concern older people will need to travel out of their area.

Here is the latest daily area-by-area breakdown:

Ashfield - 6,408 (increase of 109)

Bassetlaw - 5,613 (increase of 34)

Broxtowe - 5,013 (increase of 64)

Gedling - 5,809 (increase of 61)

Mansfield - 5,230 (increase of 116)

Newark and Sherwood - 4,915 (increase of 48)

Nottingham - 23,052 (increase of 244)

Rushcliffe - 5,014 (increase of 40)
