
A 71-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she was allegedly stabbed during the early hours of Tuesday morning in Montrose, Scotland.
Emergency services were called to Market Street in the Angus town at around 12.40 am following reports that a woman had been seriously assaulted.
According to reports by The Scottish Sun and The Courier, the victim was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment, while officers later arrested a 21-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
Police Scotland confirmed that investigations into the alleged attack remain ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said officers received reports of a serious assault involving the 71-year-old woman shortly after midnight.
“Emergency services attended and she was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment,” the spokesperson said.
Police also confirmed that a 21-year-old woman had been arrested following the incident.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the condition of the victim or the nature of the alleged stabbing.
The incident remains under active investigation.
