70 year old man taken to hospital after Allerton Bywater crash left car on its side

A man was taken to hospital after a car crash in Allerton Bywater on Thursday (May 7), which left a car on its side between traffic lights.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had been called to the crash, which happened on Barnsdale Road at the junction with Station Road.

They were called to the scene at 3.23pm and found a car had crashed into the central reservation.

In a statement to LeedsLive, they said: "Police were called to a road traffic collision at 323pm yesterday (Thursday 7 May) in Allerton Bywater.

"The incident happened on Barnsdale Road at its junction with Station Road. A vehicle and the central reservation were in collision.

"A man in his 70s was injured and taken to hospital. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening."

Pictures seen by Leeds Live show a blue 4x4 car on it's side, stuck in between two traffic light poles.

There was a large emergency service presence on the scene, but luckily the man involved is not thought to have suffered serious injuries.
