JIND: Day after Dussehra, a 70-foot-tall effigy of 15 leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, deputy CM Dushyant Chautala, Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, and Hisar BJP MP Brijendra Singh, besides business tycoons Ambani and Adani, went up in flames during farmers’ protest at the Khatkar toll plaza.
The farmers burnt smaller dummies across the district. These protests were against the three agri-marketing laws passed on June 5, 2020.
Baddowal toll plaza in Narwana town of Jind district was another big venue for burning the effigies of BJP-JJP leaders. The farmers protested even outside deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala’s office near the Uchana Kalan grain market in Jind district and burnt his effigy, accusing him of making a fake promise of MSP (minimum support price).
