70,000 litres of cow manure spills out across main road causing chaos for drivers

An overturned tractor has spilled out 70,000 litres of cow manure across a main road this afternoon.

Cheshire Police are advising motorists to avoid the B5082 Pennys Lane at Lach Dennis, Cheshire or to take a peg to cover their noses.

Officers are currently dealing with the chaos caused by the spillage which they say will take time to resolve.

Lach Dennis is a small village east of Northwich in Cheshire, with a population of around 232 people.

A spokesperson, from Cheshire Police, said: "We are currently dealing with an overturned tractor on the B5082 Pennys Lane at Lach Dennis.

"There are currently 70k litres of cow slurry on the road. It will take time to resolve. Avoid the area or take a peg with you and be prepared to wait."
