7-year-old Flyers fan with a Gritty-themed prosthetic receives surprise visit

Just before his eighth birthday, Philadelphia Flyers fan Caiden O’Rourke received a surprise visit from Gritty in the hospital. O’Rourke, who has two prosthetic legs, asked for his new prosthetic to have a Gritty theme – and the Flyers mascot showed up at the hospital to present the young fan with a personalized jersey.

Via Fox 29:

“O’Rourke, an Abington native, has been a patient at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia since he was born with a rare orthopedic condition. Over the years, O’Rourke has received several custom prosthetic legs, many featuring Philadelphia sports logos and icons.”
