7-year-old boy wrangles 6-foot boa constrictor and it’s no contest

Most kids express a natural fear of snakes, especially large snakes. But footage has surfaced revealing that a 7-year-old boy named Hunter is not like most kids in the presence of long, slithering reptiles. (Be sure to turn on the volume.)

Hunter Bombard and his dad, Ryan Kerr-Bombard, were summoned recently to a Costa Rica residence on the Nicoya Peninsula. Ryan is chief of the volunteer firefighting group, Bomberos de Nosara.

The homeowner had requested the removal of a nearly 6-foot-long boa imperator – a non-venomous constrictor – that had been trying to ambush and eat his dog.

Ryan let Hunter, a junior firefighter, handle the task, and the video shows how adept Hunter is at catching and bagging a snake that’s longer than the boy is tall.

It’s not as though Hunter hasn’t had lots of practice. His YouTube channel contains several videos showing him capturing – for relocation purposes – a variety of reptiles, including a Central American rattlesnake and a giant green iguana.
