With Week 1 in the books, football is back and for some people fantasy football maybe even more important than their actual team’s success this year.
In Week 1 we saw a lot of injuries to some big names such as Tyreek Hill, Nick Foles and Sterling Shepard.
It is not time to trade away your entire team in hopes of making the playoffs. Be patient with guys who underperformed in Week 1 and be sure to stay active on the waiver wire.
Here are seven players to target on the waiver wire in Week 2:

Josh Allen, QB: Due to injuries and a poor supporting cast last season we did not get a full look at Allen’s true potential as a dual-threat quarterback. This year with a better offensive line and faster, more reliable receivers, Allen is certain to have a lot of upside. In Week 1 against the Jets, Allen finished with 254 yards passing, one touchdown and two tip-ball, unlucky interceptions. He also added 38 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown as well. The Bills week two match up against the Giants should be a good chance for Allen to air it out.

Malcolm Brown, RB: With the Rams load managing Todd Gurley, it will be more of a committee backfield in LA until Gurley is fully healthy. Last week against the Panthers, Brown contributed 54 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns. It seems that Brown is the goal line and red zone back, as the Rams try to limit Gurley’s chance of getting re-injured. Look for Brown’s workload to increase this week against the Saints.

John Brown, WR: A fresh start in Buffalo might be what Brown needed. The longtime Arizona Cardinal spent last season on the Baltimore Ravens and saw a large dip in his production. With quarterback Josh Allen set to improve this season, look for the speedy deep threat to be a large part of Buffalo’s success. Last week against the Jets, Brown had seven catches for 123 yards and a score.

John Ross, WR: When Ross broke the 40-yard dash record at the combine in 2017, everybody had high expectations for the former Washington Husky. After two seasons on the Bengals, however, Ross has not lived up to those expectations and was forgotten with the emergence of Tyler Boyd. But, with new offensive-minded head coach Zac Taylor, Ross looks like he has finally found a fit in a system. Last week against Seattle, he had seven receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns. If this impressive game means that Ross will finally be the dangerous deep threat everyone thought he would be, then run to the waiver wire in 4.22 seconds and pick him up.

Terry McLaurin, WR: The rookie from Ohio State went under the radar from the impressive list of draft picks in 2019. The Redskins hope to pair him with fellow former Buckeye Dwayne Haskins when the time is right but last week with Case Keenum, McLaurin had five receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. Look for his production to go up especially when the Redskins decide it is time to let Haskins under center.

Carlos Hyde, RB: The Texans added Hyde after Lamar Miller tore his ACL in the preseason. Hyde and offseason acquisition Duke Johnson Jr. will mostly split carries in Houston but after Monday night’s thriller in New Orleans, it appears as if Hyde will be main back. In that game, he averaged 8.3 yards per carry on 10 carries for 83 yards. As he gets some more time to learn the playbook, expect Hyde’s production to keep going up.

Darren Waller, TE: The Hard Knocks star came to Oakland with an incredible story about how he fought through drug addiction and troubled times to get back to the NFL. His impressive go up and get it play style is what Jon Gruden fell in love with during training camp, which led to Waller making the team as the starting tight end. Monday night against Denver, Waller totaled seven catches for 70 yards. Waller’s familiarity with the NFL and Gruden’s playbook will only get better as the season goes on which should make Waller’s stock skyrocket.
