7 TV Shows Like Sirens If You Need To Immediately Inhale More Culty Rich Women Shows

Did you finish Netflix’s latest hit drama Sirens, and feel a deep longing for more dramas involving icy, silk-dress-wearing, slightly cult-like women from the upper echelons of society? Well, I know I certainly did. So, here are some TV shows like Sirens to fill the void.

In case you haven’t seen it, Sirens follows a wayward soul named Devon (Meghann Fahy) who heads to a uppity island off the coast of New York to track down her sister Simone (Milly Alcock) after she hits rock bottom. Simone had taken a job as the assistant to a very rich woman named Michaela (Julianne Moore), and quickly, the pair developed a strong bond.

After Simone and Devon’s ageing father was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, Devon wants to bring Simone back to their hometown in Buffalo to help her out. But, of course, it’s not that simple.

While you can read more about Sirens — and that absolutely bonkers ending — HERE, chances are, if you’ve clicked on this article, you’ve binged it already. You want other, similar shows to watch, and I’ve got you sorted.

Please note, Nicole Kidman really does pop up in this list more than you’d think. It wasn’t a deliberate choice, but Nicole is undoubtedly the final boss in playing wealthy white women who are slightly… off.

7 shows to watch after Sirens

I can’t get enough of this goddamn show. (Image: Netflix / Sirens)

1. The Perfect Couple

The Perfect Couple is the perfect show to fill the Sirens-shaped hole in your heart. The series is like a whodunnit murder set on the fancy island of Nantucket filled with rich people and even stars Meghann Fahy!

If it couldn’t get cuntier, it kicks off with a flash mob to Meghann Trainor‘s “Criminals”.

The series is based on a book of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand. The story kicks off at the property of esteemed and seemingly perfect couple Greer (Nicole Kidman) and Tag Winbury (Leiv Schreiber) on the weekend of their son, Benji’s (Billy Howle) wedding. He’s getting married to a woman named Amelia (Eve Hewson) who is still getting used to his family’s riches. But things turn ugly when suddenly, the bride’s maid of honour, Merritt Monaco (Fahy), is found dead on a beach.

The rest of the weekend is spent unravelling the devastating mystery.

You can watch The Perfect Couple on Netflix.

2. Nine Perfect Strangers

When nine overwhelmed city slickers head to a gorgeous wellness resort, they instantly become captivated by Masha (Nicole Kidman, again), the enigmatic leader of the establishment. Although the guests are hesitant at first, they soon come to trust in Masha’s unconventional practices — until things go a step too far.

Similarly to Sirens, Nine Perfect Strangers touches on themes of wealth and temptation. It also has an impeccable cast including Melissa McCarthy, Asher Keddie, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Shannon and Samara Weaving, just to name a few.

You can watch seasons one and two of Nine Perfect Strangers on Prime Video.

3. Revenge

Revenge was one of the biggest hit TV series in the early 2010s. Based on the classic novel The Count of Monte Cristo, Revenge follows a woman named Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) who returns to the Hamptons to seek revenge against those who wronged her and her family.

You see, Emily’s real name is Amanda Clarke. When she was eight years old, her family was torn apart when her father, who worked as a hedge fund manager for a huge global company, was falsely accused of funnelling money to a terrorist organisation.

Now, under a new alias, Emily is determined to break into the socialite scene to hurt the people who ruined her life.

Drama!!!!!

You can watch seasons one to four of Revenge on Disney+.

4. Big Little Lies

In the gorgeous Californian beach town of Monterey, the lives of the wealthy families occupying its shores seem perfect. When newcomer Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley) and her son Ziggy (Iain Armitage) move to town, they’re welcomed by the mum version of the popular kids: beautiful, demure Celeste Wright (Nicole Kidman, here she is!!!!) and perky Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon). Jane is struck by how kind, beautiful and put together her two new friends are. But soon, she’ll discover that the polished demeanour of the families in Monterey is often just a guise for something more sinister.

So, when a murder occurs on the local school grounds during a fundraiser, the dark, dirty secrets of their pretty lives come to the surface.

The series is based on the book by Aussie author Liane Moriarty. You can watch seasons one and two of Big Little Lies on BINGE.

5. The Path

Admittedly, there are fewer flowy outfits and powerful female leaders in this one, BUT there are strong cult vibes in The Path.

The series is about a man named Eddie Lane (Aaron Paul) who is a member of the fictional Meyerist Movement — a belief system which combines New Age philosophy with teachings from Scientology, Utopianism and Christian mysticism.

Eddie and his family are complete believers in the Meyerism Movement teachings until he goes on a spiritual retreat in Peru and begins to doubt his faith. The Path follows the family as they wrestle with their faith and their trust in the Meyerism movement.

You can watch The Path on Prime Video.

6. Expats

As the name suggests, Expats follows three American women living in Hong Kong in 2014 whose lives suddenly intersect when they’re hit with a sudden tragedy, which affects them all in different ways.  There’s Margaret (IT’S NICOLE AGAIN), who has to struggle with the disappearance of her young son, Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), the nanny who loses Margaret’s son at a night market, and Hilary Starr (Sarayu Blue), a woman whose husband begins an affair with Mercy.

Ultimately, it’s a story heavy on the themes of blame and accountability, just like Sirens.

You can watch Expats on Prime Video.

7. Desperate Housewives

If you’re in the mood for rich, gorgeous women but want more of a comedic series, Desperate Housewives is the one for you.

The beloved series kicked off in 2004 and aired until 2012. It follows a bunch of ladies — Susan (Teri Hatcher), Lynette (Felicity Huffman), Bree (Marcia Cross) and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) — living on the prim and proper Wisteria Lane as they come to terms with the sudden suicide of their close friend, Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong). Then, of course, drama ensues.

You can watch Desperate Housewives on Disney+.

Well, that should hold you over for a bit. Fingers crossed that Sirens season two is confirmed while you’re busy watching all eight seasons of Desperate Housewives.
