7 product names only Scots will find funny including 'dug milk' and 'Füd'

A fun Twitter thread has pointed out some of the hilariously named brands from around the world which may not be taken too seriously in Scotland.

Twitter user @motherofnaggins kicked things off with the hilariously named 'Dug Milk'.

Posting a pic of the intriguing brand on the social media site, they wrote: "Tears in me f**kin eyes at the thought of these people trying to market “dug milk” in Scotland."

The Swedish brand are hoping their potato-based drink which acts as a milk substitute will appeal to vegans and vegetarians across the UK, but they might find it a bit tougher to make a serious impression in Scotland.

And they aren't the only ones on the amusing list.

Fellow Twitter user G-Ray threw the hilariously named Füd in to the mix.

The vitamin energy drink is actually meant to be pronounced 'food' but it doesn't stop the branding being funny to Scots with that name having hilarious connotations.

Even stranger is the two (should that be number two?) offerings from another user called Jamie who pointed out not just a Canadian brand called 'Shyte' but also a Malaysian peanut butter firm who offer 'Jobbie' nut butter.

Both firms must be wondering why they have gone viral half the world away in Scotland.

Entrepreneur Kevin Richards, who uses the #eatshyte, even revealed in 2018 that the branding was put together in collaboration with a Scot.

He even joked at the time: "We may be silly, but we take our chocolate very seriously.

"'Please…Eat Shyte.'"

Other hilarious offerings in the thread include nut brand Fudco , John Lewis' now famous Fud the Dragon toy and even a (largely wooden) adventure playground at Castle Howard in Yorkshire called 'Skelf Island' (skelf is a Scots word for a splinter).
