7 players who could leave Arsenal this summer as Unai Emery plots big changes

Unai Emery’s first season as Arsenal manager could have gone better, but it could also have gone a lot worse .

With two Premier League games still to play, The Gunners currently sit two points outside the top four, while remaining on-course for a mouth-watering meeting with London rivals Chelsea in the Europa League final.

In addition to a bulk of academy prospects, high-profile first-teamers Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere were made to see out the remainder of their contracts last summer before being allowed to pursue other endeavours.

And the same looks set to happen this year, with an even bigger host of senior professionals staring through the exit door.

Here are 8 Arsenal players out of contract this June.

Petr Cech

Mesut Ozil opens up on his Arsenal future ahead of summer transfer window

After a long and illustrious Premier League career, though barely any of his achievement was with his current club, the legendary Czech goalkeeper has already announced his retirement.

He will hang up his gloves once his current deal expires.

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Another who hasn’t really looked the part since joining for free on a year-long contract from Dortmund in the summer, you would be very surprised if Lichtsteiner stays.

35 years old and looking well off the pace, the right-back will be a free agent come July.

Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey sends emotional message to fans after playing last Arsenal game

How, oh how have Arsenal let this one slip through their grasp?

After The Gunners failed to offer the Welshman a contract extension, Juventus snuck in in January, and he signed a pre-contract agreement to join them for free following the conclusion of his current deal.

He will play alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, and will be earning 400 thousand pounds per week. The thoughts of everyone at Mirror Sport go out to him, we imagine he’s devastated.

David Ospina

A neat back up goalkeeper who has spent the season on loan at Napoli.

Looked to have played his last Arsenal game when making way for Bernd Leno’s move from Leverkusen last summer.

But, after Cech’s retirement announcement, it could be worth offering the Colombian another year or two.

Denis Suarez

Former Arsenal star Gabriel claims people 'talked s*** about me' ahead of Valencia return

Technically not the expiration of a contract, rather the end of a 6-month loan spell from Barcelona .

Suarez has failed to set the world alight and, despite an option to permanently sign him, the youngster looks to have already played his final game in an Arsenal shirt.

After Sustaining a groin injury, the midfielder’s season is over in addition - you would think - to his brief Arsenal career.

Matt Macey

A towering young goalkeeper who has sent the season in League 1 with Plymouth.

Still young and could yet have an opportunity at Arsenal, but you can’t really ever see him being good enough for the Premier League, and he will probably go.

Danny Welbeck

Laurent Koscielny pays Aaron Ramsey tribute after Welshman plays last game for Arsenal

Although he won’t be short of clubs in the Premier League keen to offer him a contract, Welbeck’s Arsenal days also look to be over.

A hit-and-miss time in North London has seen him never really reaching the heights it was hoped he would.

And with several other clubs already preparing offers, the Englishman might as well start packing his bags already.
