7 players to watch for the Cardinals in Day 3 of the draft

The Arizona Cardinals begin Day 3 of the 2019 draft with seven picks remaining. They have selected four players thus far, splitting them with two players on offense and two on defense.

As they enter the final day of the draft, who are some players they could target?

Iowa State WR Hakeem Butler

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals already drafted a receiver in Andy Isabella but Butler is touted by many as the best player still left on the board. He has size, speed and production. Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury will know him well, as Butler played in the Big 12. Butler caught four passes for 148 yards and a touchdown against Texas Tech in 2018.

Minnesota LB Blake Cashman

 Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals met with Cashman at the NFL combine. He has the size at linebacker Vance Joseph has used in the past. He is athletic, having run a 4.5-second 40 and having a 6.95-second three-cone, 4.12-second 20-yards shuttle, 37.5-inch vertical leap and 10-2 broad jump. He was a former walk-on who became a team captain.

Oklahoma OG Drum Samia

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals have not yet addressed the offensive line in the draft, much to the chagrin of many fans. Samia blocked for Kyler Murray and is still on the board. He has a mean streak and, coming from the Big 12, Kingsbury already knows some about him.

Penn State EDGE Shareef Miller

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals have drafted pass rushers in the fourth round before (Sam Acho, Alex Okafor). Miller had an official visit with the Cardinals in the pre-draft process. He improved every season and had seven sacks and 15 tackles for loss in 2018.

Oregon DB Ugo Amadi

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Amadi played cornerback and safety at Oregon. He met privately with the Cardinals. He can also return punts.

He probably will be a player to watch in the final two rounds. He met privately with the Cardinals and moves well.

Washburn CB Corey Ballentine

Ballentine would scratch the small-school itch the Cardinals could scratch. Not only does he offer upside as a defensive back, he returned kicks and should be an impact special teams player, as he blocked three kicks last year. Think of him like Justin Bethel.
