The NFL season may have ended long ago for the Tennessee Titans, but some of the team’s former players are getting a second chance with the newly formed Alliance of American Football.
Seven former Titans saw action across eight teams in the AAF’s opening weekend, with some making more of a splash than others.
Here’s a quick look at how each player fared.
Mekale McKay

Wide receiver Mekale McKay was originally signed by the Titans on June 6, 2015. He didn’t last long, though, and was ultimately cut on June 6, 2017.
McKay is now with the San Antonio Commanders, and totaled five receptions for 80 yards on his team’s 15-6 victory.
Steve Johnson

Linebacker Steve Johnson played a full 16 games for the Titans in 2015 after leaving the Broncos, but wasn’t able to remain on an NFL roster.
He’s now found a home with the Arizona Hotshots, and was an impact payer on defense with an interception. This effort helped guide the Hotshots to their 38-22 win over Salt Lake.
Jeremiah Poutasi

Left tackle Jeremiah Poutasi once suited up in two-toned blue after he was chosen 66th overall by the Titans in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The Titans ultimately parted ways with him when they cut the roster down in 2016.
Poutasi is now a starter for the Salt Lake Stallions, and did see the field in Week 1.
David Cobb

A fifth-round pick for the Titans in 2015, running back David Cobb appeared in seven games with a single start that year. He totaled 52 carries for 146 yards before ultimately being let go in August of 2016.
Now with the Commanders, Cobb recorded nine carries for 36 yards, and a lone reception for five yards.
Kaelin Burnett

Linebacker Kaelin Burnett played five games in Nashville after the Titans signed him on November 26, 2014. He lasted almost a year with the team before he was released on Sept. 26, 2015.
He now joins the Alliance’s Arizona team, and had two tackles in the 38-22 win over the Stallions.
Julius Warmsley

A former practice squad member of the Titans, defensive tackle Julius Warmsley found himself named as one of the Memphis Express’ team captains in the first week of AAF action.
Warmsley totaled 0.5 sacks in the Express, 26-0 shutout loss to the Birmingham Iron.
Nyles Morgan

Former Titans linebacker Nyles Morgan had a very brief stint in Nashville before becoming a part of the team’s cuts prior to the 2018 season. He’s got a fresh start now with the Hotshots, though, and totaled three tackles as Arizona kicked off its season with a 1-0 record.
