7 fantasy waiver wire pickups for week 7

The midway point of the season is just around the corner and its time to make some serious changes if your fantasy football team has been struggling, whether that may be trading a valuable asset or taking a big risk on an up and coming player.

Using ESPN’s roster percentages, here are seven players on the waiver wire in Week 7:

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

RB Benny Snell Jr. — 2.1% rostered

The Steelers offense has been limited with injuries to Big Ben and Mason Rudolph, but that also means they have been running the ball significantly more.

With Jaylen Samuels undergoing a knee procedure and James Connor taking big hits every week, Snell has seen an increased workload. Last week in L.A., Snell had 17 carries for 75 yards. He is definitely a guy to keep an eye on as this team continues to deal with injuries and find a rhythm offensively.

RB Chase Edmonds — 22.6% rostered

The Kyler Murray show has officially taken flight as Kliff Kingsbury has finally seemed to develop a system instead of a sporadic spread offense.

Edmonds has emerged as a solid number two back behind David Johnson. Last week in a thriller against Atlanta, he has five carries for 34 yards and two receptions for 33 yards. He’s scored a touchdown in each of the last two weeks. Edmonds could be a solid flex option in the coming weeks.

WR Jamison Crowder — 57.8% rostered

You may have dropped Crowder earlier in the season but run to the waiver wire now and scoop him up now if you can. With Sam Darnold under center, Adam Gase opens up the playbook much more and Crowder is a big part of that.

Last week against the Cowboys, Crowder hauled in six catches for 98 yards. As a solid slot option in the remainder of the season, Crowder and the Jets could get rolling when they are completely healthy.

TE Ricky Seals-Jones — 2.1% rostered

With David Njoku still out with a head and neck injury, Seals-Jones has become possibly Baker Mayfield’s most reliable target. In an offense full of talent, Seals-Jones seems to slip through the cracks and has had success thus far.

He totaled three catches for 47 yards and a touchdown against Seattle last week. As a veteran tight end, Seals-Jones is a great pickup as a backup, fill-in option.

RB Latavius Murray — 47.6% rostered

Alvin Kamara just doesn’t seem himself this year. With Drew Brees’ absence and minor injuries, his production has taken a significant dip. Enter, Latavius Murray.

Murray has been in the league six years now and has been a great contributing option in Oakland, Minnesota, and now New Orleans. In a defensive battle last week, he racked up eight carries for 44 yards and led the team in rushing.

Look for Murray to get an increased workload even when Brees returns and Kamara gets fully healthy.

QB Sam Darnold — 7.8% rostered

After missing five weeks with mono, Darnold came back in a big way as the Jets upset the Cowboys to pick up their first win of the season. The offense was night and day compared to the weeks prior and Adam Gase’s playbook seemed entirely different.

Darnold finished the day completing 22 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets have a favorable schedule after they play New England on Monday Night Football this week so you can expect Darnold to finally show his true potential at quarterback.

WR Phillip Dorsett — 27.1% rostered

The former Colts first round pick has had an average year thus far but his most impressive characteristic might just be his ability to stay healthy. The Patriots have been riddled with injuries on offense and their receiving corps seems to lose another guy every week.

Dorsett will be Brady’s most healthy and consistent target—outside of Julian Edelman—in the next few weeks and with a favorable matchup against the Jets coming up, look for him to have a big week.
