7 ex-Broncos are starting for AAF teams

There are 15 former Denver Broncos playing in the Alliance of American Football (with six playing for the Salt Lake Stallions). Of those 16 players, seven have earned starting jobs in the new AAF league.

Kenny Bell is a starting wide receiver for Salt Lake City (and Jordan Leslie is the team’s No. 3 receiver). The Stallions are starting Jeremiah Poutasi at left tackle and Leon Johnson is his backup. Taylor Bertolet is the team’s starting kicker.

Mekale McKay is a starting wide receiver for San Antonio (John Diarse is the team’s No. 2 slot receiver) and Orion Stewart is the Commanders’ starting strong safety. Stewart had four tackles and an interception this weekend.

Rahim Moore is starting at free safety for Arizona and Steven Johnson is a starting inside linebacker for the Hotshots. Johnson led Arizona’s defense with seven tackles and an interception in the team’s first game.

In addition to Leslie, L. Johnson and Diarse, guard Avery Gennesy (Atlanta), guard Robert Myers (Memphis), linebacker Quentin Gause (Memphis), tight end Austin Taylor (Salt Lake), and defensive lineman Shakir Soto (San Antonio) are also backups in the AAF.
