The Houston Texans took care of the Oakland Raiders Sunday afternoon with a 27-24 fourth quarter comeback at NRG Stadium. As a result, there were seven interesting facts to come out of the Week 8 matchup.
1. texans run defense remains elite

Believe it or not, but the Texans defense has not allowed a 100-yard rusher in 24 straight games, going back to Week 1 of 2018 at the New England Patriots. As a result, they join the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts as the only clubs to not allow a 100-yard rusher from 2018-19.
2. darren fells is as good as eric ebron and zach ertz

The 33-year-old tight end notched his third career game with multiple receiving touchdowns. As a result, he ties the Colts’ Eric Ebron and the Eagles’ Zach Ertz for the second-most such games for tight ends since 2017. Only Kansas City’s Travis Kelce has more with four.
3. nuk keeps chasing andre johnson

The two-time All-Pro notched his ninth career game with 10-plus receptions, which is the second most in franchise history behind Andre Johnson’s 22. It is Hopkins’ first since Week 17 of the 2018 season when he caught 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
4. the tackle for loss machine

Outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus collected his third game with multiple tackles for loss in 2019, and the 17th of his career. Because of this, he ties Jadeveon Clowney for the second-most in team history with 17. Who is on top? Try J.J. Watt with 43.
5. watson plays the fifth

Deshaun Watson became the fifth quarterback in league history to reach 60 career passing touchdowns in their first 31 career games. He is also the fifth quarterback in league history to reach 8,000 career passing yards in their first 31 career games.
6. watson still trailing matt schaub

As great as Watson’s career has been to this point, he still trails Matt Schaub in some categories, but he keeps working his way to erase him from the Texans’ record books. On Sunday, Watson recorded his ninth career game with three-plus touchdown passes and his fourth of the year (Weeks 1, 3, 5). Watson also has the second-most games with three touchdown passes in team history. Schaub is on top with 12.
7. j.j. watt still added to his total before his injury

Before Watt left the game with a torn pectoral in the second quarter, he recorded his fourth tackle for loss of 2019 and leads the entire league in tackles for loss with 158 since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2011.
