Everyone knows that the way to get on the good side of Donald Trump is to ply him with gifts and appeal to his massive ego, it’s the only way to get anything in return. But some world leaders may have taken it a step too far with their extravagant, and in many cases, expensive gifts in a bid to get some sort of preferential treatment from the president. How Trump rewarded them will leave you stunned. In some cases it seems like outright bribery.

In March the U.S. president was given a flattering portrait by Vladimir Putin depicting his stance after being shot last year. Trump immediately fell in love with it after complaining about the official portrait done by an American artist.
Shortly afterwards, Trump left everyone stunned after he announced he would let Putin keep the land Russia had seized from Ukraine.

Benjamin Netanyahu gifted Trump a golden pager which was said to be an intentional allusion to the deadly attack on Hezbollah members in which Israel targeted pagers used by them, causing them to explode. Trump was said to be rather put off by the concerning gift.
In return Trump shockingly vowed that the U.S. would help “take over” and “own” the Gaza strip. A few weeks later he posted an A.I. video of what that would look like.
Luxury Boeing: Qatar

Perhaps the most infamous lavish gift bestowed upon the president. Trump was handed a $400 million luxury Boeing jet to replace the current Air Force One as a gift from Qatar.
Not long after he received the expensive present, news broke that Qatar would be building an air force facility in Idaho. Coincidence? I think not.

In an attempt to continue stroking his ego, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, gifted Donald Trump with a framed nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, something we know the U.S. president has coveted for a long time.
Trump has since announced U.S. support for Argentina in the form of a currency swap.

Donald Trump was also given a gold bar worth roughly $130,000 as well as a Rolex desk clock from an assortment of Swiss billionaires.
In return Trump lowered tariffs on the country from 39% to 10% a little over a week later.
Golf Clubs: Japan

Sanae Takaichi, the new Japanese Prime Minister gave Trump a golf club which had been used by Shinzo Abe, who Trump had grown very close to during his first term. It came in a glass case and a gold golf ball and bag signed by golf pro, Hideki Matsuyama.
The U.S. and Japan have been on good terms for a while and after receiving the gifts Trump committed to deals struck earlier in the year including a 15% tariff and a deal on rare earth minerals.

Yet another ego-stroking gift this time coming from South Korean President Lee Jae Myung who stated that Trump is ruling like a king. No doubt Donald wears the crown in the privacy of his bedroom but it probably won’t be long until he starts wearing it publicly too.
The timing of the gift coincided with Trump’s surprising decision to allow the country to build nuclear submarines.
