With the January transfer window fast approaching it's set to be a massive month for the Rangers decision makers.
Hogmanay will usher in 2022 and a host of huge calls over the squad at Ibrox.
Sporting director Ross Wilson has made no secret of the fact that player trading is a key part of the business model.
The clubs as of yet haven't cashed in on a player, but could that change after the bells with several players attracting interest from scouts?
Wilson will also be factoring in the length of a player's contract when it comes to the winter window, and if he can convince a player to commit their long-term future to the club.
There is also the small matter of incomings as Gio van Bronckhorst looks to build on his early success in the Ibrox dugout.
Record Sport takes a look at some of the business to attend to on both Wilson and Van Bronckhorst's checklists going into the New Year.
Nathan Patterson
Should he stay or should he go?
The Ibrox right-back is clearly one of the brightest young talents in the Scottish Premiership, and Everton lead the list of suitors eyeing up a January move.
While a £5 million bid was laughed out at the start of the season, the Toffees are set to come back for Patterson next month.

Aside from the transfer fee, the Scotland cap has been used sparingly by both Steven Gerrard and Van Bronckhorst so far this season.
Captain James Tavernier is the first-choice at right-back and game time could be a factor for both Patterson and the club in the final transfer decision.
Jermain Defoe
The 39-year-old is still a registered player for the Ibrox side but has featured sporadically since becoming a coach this summer under Steven Gerrard.
Since the departure of Gerrard, Defoe has been removed as a coach as Van Bronckhorst ushered in his new backroom team.

While the Dutchman has stated he would still consider the England cap as part of his first-team squad, he has made just one appearance - an 89th minute cameo against Livingston.
With just six months left on his deal, the Dutchman could look to trim the wage bill and allow Defoe to look for a new challenge. However, the 39-year-old brings plenty of experience and depth for Van Bronckhorst's options up front heading into the second half of the season, with Kemar Roofe sidelined.
Connor Goldson
Speaking of players entering the final months of their deal, it's decision time on Connor Goldson for the Premiership champions.
The 29-year-old has so far failed to agree a new deal to keep him at Ibrox, meaning he is free to agree a pre-contract deal to leave in the summer from a minute past midnight on Saturday.

If terms can't be thrashed out by Ross Wilson it leaves the club with a big call over their first-choice centre-back.
Do you sell a regular starter in January to recoup a transfer fee, or keep Goldson and risk losing him for nothing at the end of the campaign?
Joe Aribo
The Ibrox board have clearly stated they are in no rush to sell their star players.
But after posting £23.5 million losses in the latest annual accounts, clubs down south are likely to test that resolve next month.

Joe Aribo is the prize asset in Govan and has been the difference maker so far for Rangers this term.
He is a man in demand with a host of English Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the talented 25-year-old as he moves in to the final 18 months of his contract.
Is January the right time to sell the key man to bring in a bumper fee?
Contract calls
Along with Aribo, both Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos have their deals coming up in 2023.
They duo would command bumper transfer fees if the club were to cash-in next month with plenty of admiring glances coming from England and across Europe.
Leeds were heavily linked with Kent last summer while Morelos has looked close to joining Lille and then Porto in the last few windows.
Those at Ibrox will have taken note of the tough spot city rivals Celtic left themselves in last summer with Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer being sold as they entered the final year of their deals.
Do Rangers run a similar risk of being forced to sell two key assets or let them reach that perilous 12 month mark?
Retirement decisions
Allan McGregor and Steven Davis have been key to recapturing the glory days for Rangers and title success last term.
But how long will they stay at Ibrox?

McGregor remains the clear first choice between the sticks this season while Northern Ireland international Davis has been an ever-present again this term.
At 39 and 36 respectively, can Van Bronckhorst and Wilson convince the pair to extend their deals? Or would a title win be the perfect way to round off their careers?
Defoe, too, may wish to call time on his playing days after getting a taste for the coaching side.
Arrivals
With all the talk of departures, Gio van Bronckhorst will be keen to put his own stamp on the Ibrox first team.
Reports suggest Rangers are leading the race to sign PSG kid Xavi Simons after opening talks with Mino Raiola.
Prospects like Pedro Torre, Francis Amuzu and James Sands have all been touted with mid-season moves to Glasgow.
For Wilson and Van Bronckhorst, they will face a judgement call on how best to strike the balance between adding new faces, and rocking the boat at a team sitting top of the table.
