Thursday’s figures did not include 7,893 positive results from antigen tests over the past 24 hours. This would raise the total to 15,672.

This compared with the 59 coronavirus-related fatalities and 8,019 new cases reported on the previous day.

As of Thursday, a total of 75,864 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 77,427 the previous day), including 26,826 in hospitals (down from 26,901). Among the remainder 9,976 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 10,653) and 38,658 in home/community isolation (down from 39,471).

Of those in hospital, 1,277 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 1,353) and 644 dependent on ventilators (down from 673).

Bangkok reported two more deaths and there were six fatalities in adjacent provinces - Samut Prakan (3), Nakhon Pathom (2) and Pathum Thani (1).

Other central plains provinces further from the capital had 16 deaths - four in Suphan Buri, three each in Nakhon Sawan and Chon Buri, two in Prachuap Khiri Khan and one each in Saraburi, Rayong, Nakhon Nayok and Prachin Buri.

The North reported 14 deaths - in Chiang Mai (5), Phetchabun (4), Phayao (2), Lamphun (1), Sukhothai (1) and Phichit (1).

The Northeast saw 15 more coronavirus-related fatalities - four in Si Sa Ket, three in Nong Bua Lam Phu, two each in Roi Et and Loei and one each in Udon Thani, Kalasin, Nakhon Phanom and Yasothon.

The South had three deaths in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Of the 7,779 new cases on Thursday, 7,761 were in the general population, 16 among prison inmates and two imported, from Norway and the Philippines.

Of the new infections in the general population, 7,731 were confirmed at hospitals and 30 via mass testing.
