A wanted man whose striking appearance attracted plenty of comments is now back behind bars after being traced to a Merseyside borough.
Joseph McCarthy, 26, was being sought by police on recall to prison after he breached the conditions of his release on licence.
Officers sought the public's help to trace his whereabouts back in April.
Today police confirmed McCarthy had been detained in the Knowsley area and would be returned to prison.
He was known to have links to Kirkby and Ellesmere Port.
When the appeal was posted on the force's Facebook page, it attracted hundreds of comments because of McCarthy's flowing locks.
