With 68 days remaining until the return of Georgia football, let’s take a look at the Bulldog who wore No. 68 for the red and black. Chris Burnette wore No. 68 during his time in Athens.
Burnette went undrafted to the Miami Dolphins in 2013, but was waived by the Dolphins before the start of the 2013 season. His career ended after suffering an injury in mini-camp with the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2014. The Georgia native did make an impact as an Offensive Guard for the Bulldogs. He helped pave the way for Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall, and a whole host of running backs. Burnette is now a financial analyst in Atlanta.
Burnette helped UGA advance to the SEC Championship two times and was a three year starter. He made All-SEC 2nd Team in 2012. He captained the team several times as well. Burnette did pretty well for a player who started on the scout team while being redshirted.
