Haaland makes fan confession
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland has revealed his next destination in a confession with fans, according to reports in Spain.
Haaland - on the wanted list of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City - reportedly told supporters that he would be playing his football in Spain next season.
Real Madrid are well-known admirers of the Norwegian, who is one of the brightest prospects in world football right now.
Currently holidaying in Marbella with family, he was approached by fans who asked him where he will play next year and he replied: "I will play here, in Spain," according to AS.
Haaland has a clause in his contract which allows him to move for £64million at the end of the season.
Liverpool 'like' two stars
Liverpool have identified two stars they would like to sign to boost their attacking options.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says Raphinha from Leeds United and Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal are on the Reds' transfer list but that moves for either would be very difficult this month.
Sadio Mane and Mo Salah will leave Merseyside for the African Cup of Nations and Romano says Klopp only wants players who will benefit the club in the long term.
“Liverpool will only go into it if they have an opportunity that is also for the future. So they don’t want to sign a player just for six months or 3/4 games with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane leaving the club for the African Cup,” Romano said.
"They will jump into it if they find an opportunity like Diogo Jota – a player with a good price with no crazy price tag, and with good skills that match Jurgen Klopp’s ideas. So if they will are able to find this kind of opportunity, they will do it. Liverpool are looking in the transfer market for that kind of player, a winger – this is the priority.
"They like players like Raphinha from Leeds or Danjuma from Villarreal. But it’s very complicated to sign them in January."
Arsenal backed to sign 'phenomenal' Lamptey
Arsenal are being backed to make a move for Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey.
The former Chelsea product has just returned from a long-term hamstring problem, but his strong form last term has alerted the Gunners.
Former striker Noel Whelan told Football Insider : “ You can see what they’re doing. They’re trying to get that youth into the side and sign the best youth players around.
“Lamptey is very exciting, very quick. You can imagine him and (Bukaro) Saka down that right-hand side. It would be phenomenal – try and keep up with those two guys.
“He’s done enough, he is an exciting player. It won’t only be Arsenal looking at him. There will be other clubs sniffing around him if he keeps playing the way he’s playing.
“A really good young player. Arsenal are showing the intention of not wanting to stop where they are.
They’re wanting to progress, bring new players in, strengthen the squad and push forward towards Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“That’s where you’re used to seeing Arsenal, in that top four.”
