A woman who was injured on Sunday (9 June) when a man fell onto her from a building on Duke Street in Edinburgh has been released from hospital.
The 64-year-old woman was walking along the street in Leith when a man plummeted from a nearby building and landed on her. Officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after 5pm.
The woman has been discharged, but the 55-year-old man who fell from the building was also rushed to the Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and is still receiving treatment.
Police closed off part of Duke Street while they dealt with the unusual incident. It's thought that the man was trying to scale the outside of the building, rather than falling from a window.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police and ambulance attended Duke Street, Edinburgh, just after 5pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019 with regards to an adult male who appears to have fallen from a building there.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Anyone with any relevant information should contact police via 101 quoting incident number 3107 of June 9 2019."
