£600k of cannabis plants discovered in Clydebank industrial estate as police launch probe

Over half a million pounds worth of cannabis plants have been discovered by police in an industrial estate in Clydebank.

Around 5.20am on Saturday 1 May, intelligence-led enquiries carried out by uniformed officers led to a large number of plants, with an estimated street value of over £600,000, being found within an industrial estate in South Douglas Street.

Investigations into the discovery are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Coleen Wylie, Local Area Commander for West Dunbartonshire said: "This is a significant recovery of illegal substances that were bound for our local communities.

"We are committed to tackling organised crime and the production and supply of illegal substances, as we realise the impact and harm this causes for individual and local communities.

"We continue to pursue those involved by disrupting their actions and seizing the proceeds of criminal activities.
