60 jobs saved as Italian restaurant group Tre Ciccio is acquired out of administration

A Greater Manchester Italian restaurant group has been acquired out of administration, saving 60 jobs.

Tre Ciccio announced on Twitter its two restaurants in Altrincham and Ramsbottom had been bought by Acorn 20 Ltd with new investors.

It comes after Patrick Lannagan and Conrad Pearson of business advisory firm Mazars were appointed as joint administrator last week.

The restaurants will be led by Ian Templeton who will take on the role of non-executive chairman and financial director, it said.

The company opened its first restaurant in Altrincham in 2018 and two more sites followed in Bramhall in Stockport and Ramsbottom in Bury.

However, the Bramhall site shut earlier this month for what owners said would be “a short period of time while we restructure for future developments”.

Mr Lannagan also said there have been "expressions of interest" in the Bramhall site, with the hope it will re-open under new ownership "soon".

Mr Lannagan: “The sales of the businesses and assets of Tre Ciccio’s Altrincham and Ramsbottom restaurants were completed late yesterday, securing 60 jobs.

“Both have been sold as going concerns.

“The companies themselves remain in administration and the administrators will be writing to creditors with their reports and proposals over the coming weeks.

“We are now proceeding to deal with the potential sale of the presently closed Bramhall restaurant.”

“We have expressions of interest and would hope that a sale will conclude over the coming days with a view to it reopening under new ownership soon.”
