6 ways WWE could book Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski is reported to be close to signing with WWE. Imagine that timing, right before WrestleMania. Gronk could appear March 20 on SmackDown! from New Orleans. The FOX football analyst turning up on a show broadcast on the network. How can WWE use such an exceptional talent and personality?

Tom Brady contract signing

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

The football world would implode waiting, but imagine if Gronk were able to convince Tom Brady to announce his free-agency decision on SmackDown from New Orleans March 20. The contract signing is always a good ploy for wrestling. This would be the mother of them. You could have different helmets on the table and Brady and Gronk would wear the winner and shuck the remaining ones in vintage sports-entertainment style. The tight end would probably love it. The quarterback not so much on board with the idea.

Tag-team with John Cena

What better partner for Gronk than another great with Boston ties? John Cena made his return recently in Beantown. This would bring together a pair of local heroes and the crowd would devour it. Cena is scheduled to face The Fiend — aka Bray Wyatt — at WrestleMania so the sports juggernaut would need to find another heel — Eric Rowan? – to create a tag-team extravaganza.

One of the main events of the WrestleMania 36 card April 5 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa involves Bill Goldberg against Roman Reigns. In addition to having the Georgia-Georgia Tech rivalry, you have two football players. Why not make it a triple threat and add in Gronk? His finishing hold? The Gronk Spike, of course.

Have Jinder Mahal settle the score

Jinder Mahal has been away from the scene for a while. What a better way to return from a knee injury — if he is ready — then to settle the score from WrestleMania 33 when Gronk helped his buddy Mojo Rawley capture the Andre the Giant Battle Royale at Mahal’s expense.

Put Gronk in the No Way Jose Conga line

There’s no more fun guy than Rob Gronkowski. So, take advantage of his party-boy reputation by adding him to the Conga line. He has plenty of dance moves and would fit right in and that would give No Way Jose a huge boost. There’s also the Lucha House Party but those wrestlers are quite acrobatic and that would be too risky.

Put him back with Mojo Rawley

There’s the easy way out, which WWE doesn’t usually take. That would be to put Gronk with Mojo Rawley. If Jinder Mahal isn’t ready, they could face the Singh Bros. and other heels in a multi-person match.
