6 things we learned about the Blazers from being stuck in an elevator

It’s true that sports teams reveal who they truly are in times of stress, and this was definitely the case with members of the Portland Trail Blazers, who got stuck in an elevator at Emerson College on Tuesday.

The incident was captured in social media videos by centers Enes Kanter and Meyers Leonard, in which they and six members of the team waited for help as their transportation got stuck between floors.

Perhaps we can learn more about the Blazers — fourth in the West at 37-23 — as teammates from all of this. Does this show the fortitude necessary to win a playoff series? Will they crumble under pressure? Let’s break down what we saw:

1. Evan Turner is a good teammate (but even that has its limits)

Turner averages nearly four dimes per game, so this makes sense.

2. Damian Lillard is a rock (literally)

I think that’s Lillard curled up in the middle of the floor:

3. Enes Kanter is the comic relief

But we knew that already.

4. They pick each other up when they’re down

5. Gary Trent Jr. isn’t ready for a big role

Or, you know, he’s like anyone else and he’s scared the elevator is going to fall.

6. This is a team that doesn’t repeat its mistakes
