 Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Gordon, one of the league’s best running backs, is the latest at his position to demand a new deal. Le’Veon Bell did, ultimately sitting out a year. David Johnson had a mini-holdout in the offseason before his deal. Gordon has said now he will not report to training camp unless he gets a new deal or is traded to a team willing to sign him to a long-term deal.

Suspensions around the league

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The league announced a pair of suspensions. The Oakland Raiders have lost guard Richie Incognito for two games because of a personal conduct violation.

The New York Jets will be without tight end Chris Herndon for four weeks, as he was suspended under the substance abuse policy after a DUI.
