Full disclosure: I’m from the Northeast, so I had no idea what Buc-ee’s was for years.
Then, on a road trip from Austin to Dallas, my buddy and I made a pit stop. And it was there that I discovered that Buc-ee’s isn’t just any old gas station with a convenience store attached to it.
It was a destination unto itself, a stop that you have to make if you can find one of its locations. And with news that it’s expanding up to Ohio, you may be wondering: What is Buc-ee’s and why is it so hyped?
I have answers, with reasons why it’s the GOAT:

There are endless gas pumps
Seriously. There are like a bajillion places to gas up. No waiting in line.

The food, my God, the food
Brisket sandwiches, breakfast tacos, fresh-made fudge, snacks like Beaver Nuggets (don’t worry, they’re little corn and sugar balls), candy and the famed wall of jerky.
My goodness.

The greatest bathrooms of any rest stop ever
Oh you think I’m kidding here. NOPE. We’re talking about restrooms that have won awards — they’re always clean, set up nicely, the works.

Buc-ee's swag is awesome
Look at that beaver! He’s so cute! And the logo is on everything that’s available in the rest stops — shirts, mugs, hats, you name it.

It's just so big
Everything’s bigger in Texas etc etc, but these things are massive. It’s like going to a mall! Quite a sight to take in.
