6 other pro teams who should play in multiple cities

The Tampa Bay Rays are — per ESPN — reportedly exploring an idea in which they would split their schedule between Florida and Montreal, a concept that’s getting ripped on Twitter and leaving everyone with so many questions about how it would work.

But this might be the start of something new in sports! The two-town team! Once the Montampa Expoays work out all the kinks — from how to attract free agents who would have to commute a lot to how playoff games would work — other professional sports franchises could join in!

Here are are a few ideas for other double dippers:

1. Arizona Quebec City Coyotes

The Yotes have had a ton of trouble attracting fans and having success in Arizona. The Nordiques became the Colorado Avalanche and there have been people who want another team back in Quebec City. So what if they’re 2,707 miles apart?

2. JaxLonXico Jaguars

The Jaguars already play one game a year in London. The NFL has scheduled games in Mexico. So let’s make the Jaguars the official international team of the league.

3. Hartford New York Island Whales

The Isles were last in average attendance last year and Connecticut misses the Whalers. Let’s marry these two together — the name is already perfect.

4. Carolinas Panthers

If you call a team “Carolina” but they only play in Charlotte, shouldn’t you also give them a home in South Carolina, like Charleston?

5. Tri-State Nets

They’ll play in Brooklyn, New Jersey (where they bolted from in 2012) and Connecticut.

6. Raiders Country

They’ve played in Los Angeles, Oakland and soon, Las Vegas. Let’s just make everyone out West happy.
