6 NFL players who are voting ‘yes’ on the latest CBA proposal

Last month, we focused on the NFL players who were unhappy about the CBA proposal from the league that would increase the schedule from 16 to 17 regular season games.

But there are players out there who are on the other side of the vote, who think the proposal from owners is one that they should vote “yes” on, with some of those names sharing their thoughts on social media.

The NFLPA sent out ballots on Thursday and voting will be open until 11:59 pm ET on March 12. So we’ll know soon enough what the majority of players think.

1. Ryan Fitzpatrick

He took some time to talk about why he was going for “yes.”

2. Devon Kennard

3. Jake McQuaide

4. Sam Acho

5. Chase Daniel

6. Nate Solder

From Pro Football Talk:

“This is a great deal for the core players,” Solder told me Saturday. “Minimum salaries would go up significantly, with bumped-up benefits for current players and retired players. We’d increase the practice squad [from 10 to 14 by 2022]. Work rules would improve. I don’t think it’s perfect, but we’re making incremental gains on player health and safety. Some players have fallen victim to the thought if we turn this down, we’ll get something better. We might, but we might not. You have a couple of guys on Twitter who have millions of followers criticizing the deal. Other guys who support it might have 5,000 followers. Their voices aren’t loud. In some ways, I’m trying to be a voice for the voiceless.”
