March 06--At least six people have been wounded in separate shootings across the city since Saturday evening, police said.
Most recently, a 21-year-old man was wounded in a shooting around 3:20 a.m. in the Fifth City neighborhood on the West Side, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.
The man was getting into a parked vehicle in the 3300 block of West Van Buren Street when a male attacker in a nearby tan sedan fired shots at him, Alfaro said.
The man was shot in the left thigh, and his friend took him to Rush University Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
About 3 a.m., a 26-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the South Loop neighborhood in downtown, Alfaro said.
The man was walking on a sidewalk with a female friend in the first block of East 11th Street, near State Street, when he heard gunshots and realized he was struck, Alfaro said.
The man's friend drove him a mile south to the Central District police station at 1718 S. State St., where an ambulance was called, Alfaro said.
The man was shot in the left shoulder and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.
About 10:35 p.m., a 17-year-old male teen and a 20-year-old man were hurt in a shooting in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side, Alfaro said.
The two were standing on the front porch of a residence in the 1600 block of South St. Louis Avenue when someone inside a red SUV fired shots at them, Alfaro said.
The 17-year-old was shot in the left leg, and the 20-year-old was shot in the buttocks and in the right leg, Alfaro said.
Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The 20-year-old was listed in serious condition, and the teen was in good condition, Alfaro said.
About 10:30 p.m., a 17-year-old male teen was wounded in a shooting in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, Alfaro said.
The teen was standing on a sidewalk in the 400 block of South Springfield Avenue when he heard gunshots and realized he was struck, Alfaro said.
The teen was hit in the chest and left arm. A family member took him to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
About 10:10 p.m., a 35-year-old man was wounded in a shooting in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side, Alfaro said.
The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 10000 block of South State Street when two male attackers walked up to him and fired shots, Alfaro said.
The man was shot in the left hand and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Alfaro said.
No one was immediately in custody as a result of the shootings.
