6 Falcons players participating in fashion show for charity

Six Atlanta Falcons players will be participating in a fashion show this evening for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, according to a report by D. Orlando Ledbetter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“This upscale fashion show gives these Atlanta athletes the chance to hit the runway and help benefit BBBS of Metro Atlanta at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Saks Fifth Avenue in Phipps Plaza.”

The Falcons’ mascot and some cheerleaders will be joined by recently acquired guards Jamon Brown and Adam Gettis, backup quarterback Kurt Benkert, second-year cornerback Isaiah Oliver, linebacker Foye Oluokun and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman.

Hageman is the most interesting name of the bunch, considering his history of issues of the field.

The team re-signed Hageman in April after releasing him in 2017 over a domestic violence allegation and a six-game suspension by the NFL. For what it’s worth, Hageman says he takes full responsibility for his actions and has learned a lot in the two years he was out of football.

If Hageman has truly turned the page and stays out of trouble, he will have a decent shot to make the 53-man roster this year. We know Grady Jarrett, Deadrin Senat, Tyeler Davison and Jack Crawford are locked in as far as interior defensive linemen go. Hageman will have to compete for a backup spot with the likes of Justin Zimmer and the other Michael Bennett.
