6 Celtic and Rangers stars make cut on World Soccer 'impact' list but Alfredo Morelos misses out

Celtic and Rangers players have been included on a definitive list of the 500 most impactful footballers in the game.

World Soccer Magazine's roll call is an annual feature used not to define the stars making a big splash on the sport at the moment.

Unsurprisingly, the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo remain high but the new generational talents such as Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe arguably have just as much of an impact these days.

But when it comes to our game and the biggest rivalry in the country it's perhaps just as well World Soccer keeps their prestigious directory unranked.

Otherwise they might be faced with a few complaints from whichever side of Glasgow felt hard done by – as FourFourTwo fretted about when they named Ibrox as the UK's top ground, followed by Celtic Park.

No, it's all very equal this time around with three Celtic and three Rangers stars appearing on the WS500.

Kyogo, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull make the grade for the Parkhead club while in the blue corner there's Glen Kamara, James Tavernier and Ryan Kent, but no Alfredo Morelos.

Other Scots are listed too including Kieran Tierney, Andy Robertson, Billy Gilmour and Ryan Gauld.
