She called the death of her son, allegedly caused by his own grandmother, the “most traumatic and devastating scenario” she has ever faced. This absolutely awful situation unfolded in Slidell, Louisiana, and it’s hitting the community hard.
This is no car accident; Little Carson died after his 55-year-old grandmother, Kristen Anders, allegedly ran him over while pulling out of their driveway. He was simply waiting for his school bus at 7:00 AM when the incident occurred, according to the NY Post.
The tragic circumstances are compounded by the serious charges now facing Anders. Cops arrested her right at the scene. She is currently charged with vehicular homicide because police allege she was under the influence of both alcohol and sedatives at the time of the incident. This is what led to the tragic death.

Carson’s mother, Abi Combs, posted a truly emotional tribute on Facebook, sharing pictures of her smiling, blond-haired, green-eyed boy. You can immediately sense the depth of her pain. She explained that his unexpected death and the way he went were the “most traumatic and devastating scenario I have ever had to endure.”
Combs wrote that there is “absolutely nothing in this world that I could say to truly express the sorrow I will now and forever have in my heart.” She added that she is “devastated and completely broken.”
It is important to note that the grieving mother stopped short of mentioning the arrest or the specific circumstances surrounding the tragedy in her public posts, focusing entirely on her son and her loss. She reassured everyone that “Carson knew how much we loved him.”

This woman was a raging alcoholic for a WHILE and the mom left her kid with her. There is NO WAY this mother did not know her own mom had serious drug and alcohol issues.
This is a top-tier tragedy, and Combs is understandably asking for privacy so she can grieve. She admitted she doesn’t know what comes next, writing, “When everyone asks me if I need anything during this time, I truly do not know what to say but I appreciate the thoughts. I don’t know what to do or really what comes next.” Slidell Police Chief Daniel Seuzeneau also weighed in, putting the gravity of the incident into perspective. He described the ordeal as every parent’s “worst nightmare.”
The chief stressed the truly complex agony facing the family right now. He emphasized that police don’t believe Anders knew the child was in front of the car when she pulled out. Seuzeneau said, “I just want everybody to understand that this is a very tragic situation for this family, because not only did they lose their precious 5-year-old child, they’re also having to deal with the fact that the grandmother is now under arrest for this incident.”
