'£5m off potential transfer fee' - Arsenal fans slam Shkodran Mustafi for first-half horror show

Shkodran Mustafi is quickly becoming the butt of jokes at Arsenal and the defender cannot even seem to enjoy a quiet friendly game in Dubai.

The Gunners are taking on Al-Nasr of Dubai this afternoon and managed to concede the first goal of the game when Ronnie Fernandez fired the hosts in front.

In the first attack of the game he misjudged the flight of a simple long ball and was fortunate that ex-Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo was unable to punish that mistake.

Arsenal first half player ratings: Suarez and Leno impressive, Medley struggles & Mustafi poor

Mustafi was left on the deck after falling over whilst Fernandez produced a fine shot to give his side the lead.

But Arsenal fans were not bothered about the finish and went straight in on defender Mustafi, whose fall was just the latest mistake from the centre-back this season.

The 26-year-old signed for the north London outfit in the summer of 2016 from La Liga side Valencia but during the current campaign in particular he has struggled.

Mustafi bundled down Harry Kane in the penalty box earlier this month which led to Spurs earning a draw against Arsenal at Wembley. Former Gunner Emmanuel Petit labelled Mustafi the ‘King of Blunders’ after that mistake.

"I was surprised to see Mustafi picked for that game, because he is after all the king of blunders," Petit told RMC, as per ESPN.

"Even though it shouldn't have been a penalty because there was an offside, it's Mustafi who gives away the penalty again."

But now it’s the turn of Arsenal fans to rip in and it's not been pretty.
