5km from Krispy Kreme: Map shows who is allowed visit donut spot in Dublin as it reopens

Krispy Kreme will open to the general public again next Monday with those within the 5km radius allowed to get their fix of donuts.

From 11am on Wednesday, the popular Dublin joint will open its drive-thru to provide complimentary products (hot drinks and a 3-pack of original glazed doughnuts) exclusively for front-line workers to include healthcare workers, An Garda Síochána and the fire brigade service.

After an initial seven days of this complimentary service essential workers can then enjoy 50% discount off the entire menu.

And on Monday the drive-thru will open to everyone - if you are within a 5km radius of the place in line with Government restrictions of course.

Using this clever 5km tool created by a Wexford developer, you can see if you fall into the area in our picture below.

If you are in Clonee, Ongar, Castleknock, Palmerstown and a number of other areas you are in luck.

But those living in parts of Lucan, Leixlip, Ballyfermot and Finglas unfortunately aren't within the required radius.

If you want to have a closer look at the map you can check it out here and zoom in and out as you please.

Krispy Kreme statement

Richard Cheshire, CEO of Krispy Kreme UK & Ireland, said: "Over the last number of weeks, together with all relevant stakeholders we have been planning how we can adopt a phased approach to carefully and responsibly serve our customers in Ireland.

"Our priority is always to protect our staff and customers, and we now have in place a number of new health, safety and social distancing measures which align with all the government guidance.

"We are grateful to our dedicated Krispy Kreme colleagues, who volunteered to return to work, and have received training on these new measures”.

“We are committed to continuously reviewing the situation in line with the latest Government COVID-19 advice and heath guidelines.

"As the business reopens, it is important for all the team at the store to recognise the tireless efforts of essential workers as well as the local community heroes who have worked so hard during these difficult times to keep us all safe.

"Through our donation programme we hope to serve 50,000 smiles to heroes across our community. We look forward to welcoming our customers back on Monday 25 May."
