Runners will soon take part in the Great North Run 5k event ahead of the big race on Sunday.
The race around the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside took place at 6pm on Friday before the Junior and Mini runs which are on Saturday.

Many runners will take pride in their running time which has been recorded by their race chip.
You can search for your own time or someone you know by using the Great Run Company's search tool.
You don't need to know an individual's race number as the Great Run site can be used by simply searching by surname.
You can also search using our widget below from the point that the results are available online, using the runner's bib number.
It shows each competitor's name, bib number, running club where applicable, position in the race and finish time.
