580 journalists killed in 15 years

In the past 15 years 580 journalists have been killed in the line of duty, according to a new report by the US-based press freedom watchdog, the Committee to Protect Journalists. Iraq was rated the most dangerous spot on earth to practice journalism for the third year in a row, followed by Algeria, Bosnia and Colombia. According to the report, entitled Deadly News, few of journalists' murders have been solved, and many were evidently ordered by government officials.
