56 injured in jallikattu

Fifty-six persons were injured in a jallikattu organised at Kallapatti village in district on Thursday. As many as 714 bulls were released during the event with the number of participating tamers being 330. Six among the injured were referred to the government hospitals at Perambalur and Athur. The remaining injured were treated as out-patients, said police sources.
