Cases of coronavirus are continuing to soar across many areas of Nottinghamshire, a new government interactive map shows.
The number of locations now above 1,600 cases per 100,000 people - the worst rate available - has more than doubled to 53 in just two days. Previously it stood at 25.
Hucknall Westville is currently the worst hotspot in Nottinghamshire with a rate of 2501.8 cases per 100,000. This represents a total of 207 cases in the seven days to December 29, a rise in 100 cases.
Areas in Gedling, such as Gedling North and Carlton Hill, are also badly affected with the county experiencing a high volume of cases.
On the whole the county has seen a dramatic increase in cases over the last few days with 53 confirmed Covid hotspots - 28 more than Nottinghamshire had two days ago on Saturday, January 1.
There are also 11 areas with a case rate of more than 2,000, far above the average of 1525.9 per 100,000.
